Hey guys! What is UP! Remember my last monthly thoughts post? Well, you guys seemed to enjoy it so now we’re back with another one! Last month I talked about where I was at and where I wanted to be. This month we’re talking motivation.
Girlboss Dreams, What Are They Anyways?
Let me tell you friends, I have a whole fabulous life pictured in my head. It involves tons of blogging, hanging out in nice places, going to cool events, and ultimately being able to be the boss of myself. And I’m totally on my way. Recently this blog has been picking up more and more trajectory and I couldn’t be happier. I’m constantly looking for new and exciting ways to improve my website and have an advantage over other people in my niche. Because honestly, everyone and their mom has a blog.
Working to live or living to work?
As I’m writing this right now I’m sitting in my statistics class (currently dying) and furiously checking my Pinterest statistics. And it’s making me realize what I really want to do every day I wake up is create content for you guys. My #1 gal crush said in her new audio book some people work to live and some people live to work. I would live to blog every single day. There’s something about creating content, crushing goals, and crunching social media stats that really lights my fire. And let me tell you that’s important when you’re doing ANYTHING in life.
I’m constantly trying to push myself to break new barriers and setting these extra high expectations of myself. Even though I’m currently only blogging part time I still feel like I’m livening to work on this blog. I try to focus on being authentic and honest on this blog and I think it’s what makes me really unique in the community. My life isn’t as an insta-famous blogger. I mean I failed college classes and wrote a blog about it. But I’m starting to figure out that’s what you guys love to heard, and I love creating it for you.
Okay so money is always a sensitive one to talk about it. I honestly don’t really like talking about it too much because I’m truly terrible with it. But when it comes to money and blogging, ya girl has to get it out. I don’t know how other bloggers out there with less of a following and engagement are doing it. I have decently strong statistics for blogs my size. Yet, I can’t seem to find sponsored opportunities. I’ve been extremely selective about who I choose to work with. Ex. I no longer apply for affiliate accounts for random brands unless I love their services and they’re paying me to write a sponsored post. Because, let’s face it. Time is precious. And I frankly do not have time to write you free marketing.
I think moving into this month I have to really understand the value of myself and stick to it. I can feel it deep down that it’s the right decision to hold out for opportunities I know are 100% right for me and my brand. But it’s still discouraging to see other people getting constant partnerships with brands and companies. Call me stubborn, I know. But I truly don’t want to turn into a blogger that’s purely after partnerships and money. Yes, those are perks that come out of blogging and lots of people make it their full time job. I’m just not at that stage yet. Moving into next month I hope to land at least one awesome sponsored client that I believe in.
Why Nicole Lapin Is My Number One #Girlcrush This Month
Not only is sh wild successful she’s wicked smart. Nicole is a Girlboss is every sense and it’s hella inspiring. I’ve been listening to her new audio book called Boss Bitch and I’m ready to take on the world. She’s the ultimate example of going out and crushing your dreams and I’m ready to follow right behind her. While, news and tv is not where I want to be it doesn’t mean her journey can’t apply to any other gal out there. She absolutely grinded for what she wanted and she achieved it.
Listening to her newest book has inspired me so much this month to kick butt not only in my business but my every day life. Nicole lives to work and I’m starting to understand that vibe. Like I said earlier I am so motivated to make that a reality. And I feel like listening to her book 30 minutes every day keeps me constantly inspired to crush my goals. Not only does she give you awesome advice, she also makes you do exercises at the end of each chapter to reign you back into a clear focus for the chapter. What can I say, she’s awesome and she’s my total professional #girlcrush this month.
Some Final Thoughts + Rambles
So, I’m headed to Vegas on Thursday and I’m pumped. I’ll be attending a conference and learning all about how to make my blog THAT much better. I’m so incredibly excited to finally be attending a conference. Especially after my last one in NYC got cancelled. (Boo!) I’m hoping to make some awesome connections with brands while I’m out there as well and hopefully score an awesome partnership.
Besides that everything else seems to be going pretty well. I’m still dying in statistics but I’m sure everything will be fine. I’m also thinking of going vegan-ish for the rest of the month. I used to be eating like four chicken breasts in a day and I realized I just didn’t feel good about that. I’ll be going 90% plant based and 10% meat based and I’m hoping I’ll feel amazing. I’m also finally getting back into dancing again and I’ll be doing 7 classes in a week! It’s going to be a long and amazing process and I couldn’t be more excited.
Thank you guys so much for catching up with me this month! Leave a comment below telling me some amazing things I should be doing in Vegas (I’m finally legal now!) As always…
