Let’s have a chat about hair, babes.
As most of you have probably seen on Instagram I chopped my hair back into a lob. Aka a long bob. And I honestly could not be happier. Throwing it back to 2016 I chopped my hair for the first time in years. Before that, I was heat damaging my poor hair to the MAX and it was time for a change. I fell in love with my lob. It looked SO much healthier, my hair looked fuller, and it was way easier to style. Flash forward to today and I feel like a lob ninja.
Now I only wash my hair once a week and heat style it max 2 times a week (with exception of parties or events!) This is PERFECT for me because I’m just not that into doing my hair anymore. But… ask anyone who knew me in high school and they’ll tell you I wore extensions and curled my hair into perfection every single day. Sometimes I miss it. More than often I don’t.
So, I’m sure you’re still hung up on the fact I just said I only wash my hair once a week. It’s true peeps. Only once a week. So let me show you exactly how I achieve this!
The first thing I always do is start with a good shampoo and conditioner. If I’m only washing my hair once a week I need something that’s going CLEAN my hair and also a product that’s really going to nourish it as well. Because… I mean it’s only getting cleaned once a week. I use this shampoo and this conditioner to get my hair squeaky clean and extra nourished. But if I’m feeling like I might need an extra shot or two of hydration I always turn to this little guy. I’m also a bit of a weirdo and I’m convinced that reversing the traditional shampoo then condition is the secret to a great blowout. So I’ll always co-wash with the conditioner, deep condition if I’m feelin’ it, and then shampoo. My logic behind this is you start your blowout with an ultra clean canvas if you stick to shampooing last.
So after I’ve got an ultra clean canvas I jump into styling products. I don’t like to use tons of product because y’know, I have to make it last for 7 more days from styling. But that being said, I always use a blowout product of some kind. My current favourites are this one and this one. Both of them leave me with awesomely blown out hair and they smell AH-MAZING.
After my hair is primed I just blow and go. I’ve been blowing out my own hair for years so I’ve got it pretty locked down. But if you’re new to the whole world of blowouts I would suggest heading over to The Drybar’s YouTube channel and checking out all their awesome videos!
So there you have it! Why I decided to go back to a lob and exactly how I blowout my hair every single week. Before you go, babe, I want to know: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BLOWOUT PRODUCTS
